If you've turned on any kind of news over the last week, you've probably heard about the big mystery in the skies over New Jersey. Reports of numerous drones, some the size of a car, have been hovering over the night skies of the Garden State.
Now, it appears we have unknown objects in the skies over Colonie. Town residents have been reporting seeing strange lights in the sky on various neighborhood pages on Facebook. CBS 6 reached out to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, and he confirmed they've received reports of unknown objects in the sky.
Yes, we did see some, and we are trying to determine exactly the origin of them. I know that the New York and New Jersey has been inundated with drones the last couple of days.
The drones in New Jersey have sparked an uproar from residents and politicians, demanding answers from the federal government. White House National Security Spokesperson John Kirby issued a statement:
we have not been able to corroborate any of the reported visual sightings
Kirby says many of the drone reports are manned aircrafts flying legally.
Still the questions remain: What are they? Where are they from? What is their purpose? Why are all the answers from the government so evasive?
