20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Laura Saffares of Albany
For many years, Laura has been collecting donated clothes, shoes, jackets, and housewares every two weeks for St. Peter's Episcopal Church, going out of her way to visit donors' homes and help sort the items. Along with other volunteers, she serves dinners and distributes donations twice a month to those in need.
In addition to her volunteer work, Laura has been in charge of St. Peter’s Church nursery for over 30 years and serves as the "director" of the church's children’s Christmas service. Her contributions come from a deep love for helping others, and she manages all of this while also being a busy mom of two and grandmother of two grandchildren.
Laura is an outstanding example of compassion, dedication, and love for her community, and her ongoing service makes her a true role model.
